Cellar for up to 9 years. Serve chilled. The Larmandier family have been crafting excellent Champagnes for eight generations, but it is the current generation represented by Pierre and Sophie who are pioneering an exciting new direction. The couple converted to biodynamic and organic agriculture over twenty years ago and strive to work in harmony with Mother Nature to produce the very best fruit possible. Today they have some 15 hectares of vines in some of the best spots in the Côte des Blancs including Grand Cru vineyards in Cramant, Chouilly, Oger and Avize. This stunning Champagne is named “Latitude” after the fact that the Chardonnay grapes used for it all come from the same latitude south of Vertus. The grapes are harvested by hand at optimum ripeness and gently pressed in the winery. The juice is then fermented in oak barrels and then ages in the bottle on the lees for at least two years before disgorging. For this Champagne the Larmandiers add a small dosage of just 4 grammes per litre to add a very subtle touch of sweetness. The result is an elegant and harmonious Champagne that is very easy to drink and makes a fantastic aperitif with plenty of citrus fruit flavours and refreshing acidity.
